About
Meet the humans behind MCR.
Tax and accounting expertise without the personality of a filing cabinet.
Daniel McCreary
Founder-led, by design.

- Founder, MCR Tax & Advisory
- Certified Public Accountant
- Tax & Accounting
- Serving clients nationwide
I am Daniel McCreary, CPA, and founder of MCR Tax & Advisory. I help individuals, families, and owner-led businesses handle tax preparation and bookkeeping with greater clarity and confidence.
Accounting runs in the family: my father is also a CPA. I have built a career and a firm that reflect my own approach to the profession. Since beginning as a staff accountant in 2018, I have advanced into management-level roles and earned my CPA license. Along the way I developed a particular appreciation for unusual or complex accounting issues. To me, they are puzzles waiting to be solved.
I started MCR Tax & Advisory because clients deserve something beyond technically accurate work: a genuinely human experience. Accounting firms can feel cold, rigid, or intimidating. My goal is to be the opposite.
I take my work seriously, but I do not take myself too seriously.
I listen carefully, explain complex topics in plain language, and treat every client’s taxes or books with the same care I would give my own. My approach is grounded in integrity, wholehearted effort, and genuine care for others. Those values keep the purpose behind my work simple: to help people.
Outside the office
I am a husband of ten years, a father, a strength-training enthusiast, and a golfer. I am also a proud nerd who can talk about Star Wars or One Piece longer than anyone asked. I serve on my church’s worship team as music director, bass player, and drummer. Before becoming a CPA, I spent time as the University of Houston mascot: proof that accountants are not always as predictable as they look.
Working with me
If you are looking for knowledgeable guidance from someone who will listen, explain, and genuinely care, I would be glad to help.
Ashley McCreary
The experience around the expertise.

- Finance & Client Operations
- BS in Finance, Grand Canyon University
- Certified Paralegal, Liberty University
I am Ashley McCreary, Head of Business Operations at MCR Tax & Advisory. Daniel leads the firm’s professional accounting work; I manage the many pieces behind it that keep the business organized, supported, and moving forward.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Grand Canyon University and am a Certified Paralegal, having earned my certificate in paralegal studies from Liberty University, an ABA-accredited school.
Accounting can feel overwhelming without cold or confusing communication added to it. My aim is to make every interaction feel comfortable, approachable, and human. My style is direct, but it comes with genuine warmth: clients can expect someone who is welcoming and always willing to help them understand what comes next. I care about the details, and I care just as much about the people behind them. I want every client to feel known and supported, not like another name on a checklist.
Outside the office
I enjoy cooking, singing at church, and spending time with family and friends. Daniel and I met as coworkers in high school and have been married for ten years, and we have a son together. Those relationships are a reminder of why I care about looking after people personally as well as practically.
Working with me
I help turn Daniel’s expertise into a smoother, more personal experience by keeping the details moving, the communication clear, and the next steps easy to understand.

Fit
Who I work with, and the work I decline.
Who I work with
Individuals in tax season. Owner-led businesses year-round.
Individuals and families
Working professionals, families, retirees, and individuals with common complexity: multiple income sources, investments, retirement distributions, homeownership, dependents, multistate issues, or a side business. Straightforward returns are welcome.
Owner-led service businesses
Businesses with roughly one to twenty-five employees that have outgrown do-it-yourself bookkeeping or transactional tax preparation but are not ready for an internal accounting function. Owners who want clean financial information and one consistent advisor.
Owner households
Owners who want one view of the decisions that affect both sides of their financial life. The business return and the personal return, prepared together.
Not the right fit
Work I decline.
Bargain-only filing
Fees follow scope. I compete on clarity and follow-through.
Aggressive tax positions
I recommend positions I can document and defend.
Anonymous, assembly-line service
You work with the CPA who knows your account, on every engagement.
Unlimited work inside a fixed fee
Scope is explicit. I flag additional work before it is performed or billed.

Know where you stand.
An introductory call covers your situation, the scope I recommend, and what happens next. I reply to every inquiry within one business day.
